Information, actions and experiences regarding operation, closure and aftercare of the closed landfills Mansie I and Hahn-Lehmden are demonstrated. Mansie I: Disposal of municipal solid waste from 1969 until 1997 resulting in a volume 1,2 Mio m³ on a natural and dense subgrade. Sanitation and recultivation from 1993 until 1998, further operation as reactor landfill during the closure phase, final acceptance in 2005.

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
