The investigation of the possibilities to deploy chemical oxidation methods usually requires a three-step procedure.
Throse three steps are:
• laboratory studies for selecting an effective method and suitable processing parameters;
• an upscaled pilot experiment for checking the efficiency and for validating the method;
• the large scale operation under realistic field conditions. This project compared different oxidation methods for their usability to degrade crude oil contaminations of soil. The works of this study were on the level of the first two steps, including a pilot experiment in 200 l-containers.
As laboratory batch experiments, oxidations with hydrogen peroxide, Fenton's reagent, permanganate, persulfate and ozone were performed with different soil types and different degrees of contamination.

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
