Regenerative Energie
By order of the waste management enterprise of the municipality of Ulm and by authority of the Regional Commission in Tübingen UW Umweltwirtschaft GmbH is currently dealing with measures of protection at the landfill site Ulm-Eggingen. The activities are comprehensive and manifold. The surface sealing combines three layers, a thick reduced mineral sealing, a plastic liner, and a plane drainage layer consisting of both a geotextile draining mat and a mineral draining layer.
To reduce uncontrolled settlement in some areas a dynamic method was used for an intensive compaction. The shaping of the landfill surface is realised by using huge amounts of contaminated material, deriving from the building activities. A sealing monitoring system enables a long term monitoring of the whole surface sealing. The performance of the building activities is scheduled for the period 2005 to 2008.

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
