Strategies for optimization of microbiological processes for biogas cleaning

The quality of biogas is influenced by the amount of methane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, water vapor and trace contaminations (like halogen chemical compounds, siloxane).

The composition depends in general on the used raw materials and can only be influenced insignificant by the process control.

By the main use of biogas in motors or for direct combustion (e.g. heater or steam boiler) unwanted components (f.e. NH3, H2S, suspended solids) cause problems. Therefore especially the main component hydrogen sulfide, usually in concentrations from 2,000 up to 6,000 ppm, has to be removed reliably. For the possible usage in the future, first of all for the direct input in the gas distribution system, for the usage as fuel and even for the subsequent hydrogen production a detailed treatment of biogas is necessary.

Die innerstaatliche Umsetzung des Pariser Klimaschutzübereinkommens - ein Rechtsvergleich

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
