SUMMARY:
Global flow of organic materials from agriculture and forestry is not a closed cycle in many parts and ecosystems of this earth. Sources originate and decline, some regions become rich in organic matter whereas other regions show deficits.
These anthropogenic deviations cause far reaching and lasting problems such as extensive devastation as a result of soil degradation. In order to study and prove the effects of this material flow a detailed overview of their prime factors such as production, export, import and their processes are necessary. A data bank in which the global biomass produced by humans is estimated and how they are related to other factors was therefore be compiled. Moreover the import and export of biomass was also be estimated for a large number of countries. These data was then compared to other data such as the degree of soil degradation or percentage of rural population.

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
