During anaerobic conversion of solid waste an accumulation of intermediate products due to varying substrate characteristics and input loads can lead to process failure.
The rate of hydrolysis enables the estimation of the rate of release of the intermediates. Therefore the hydrolysis rate represents a proper value to determine the appropriate amount of input aiming at an optimised process. The hydrolysis constants of different substrates were investigated and the results were used for an estimation of the release of acetate during the process.

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
