The world’s largest trial to apply compostable packaging is planned to take place in Kassel, Germany.
A wide range of products as for example shopping bags, food packaging etc. made from biodegradable polymers will be distributed by local and national retailers, be disposed by consumers after use via the biobin and be used to generate compost. The project will be realised by leading companies of the biodegradable polymers industry in co-operation with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. This report presents the main features of this project.

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
