Present study aimed to obtain higher quality of activated carbon (ACs) from olive waste (OW) through successive hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) and activation.
The optimization of HTC experimental parameters was explored using the methodology of response surfaces. The optimal conditions for hydrothermal carbonization of olive waste allowed a mass yield of 57.34 %, a fixed carbon content of 50.99 % and an Adsorption capacity of MB of about 124.29 mg/g. The biochar, obtained at optimal conditions, was activated physically and chemicallyand the characterization of the obtained carbons was investigated. The results shows that samples activated with KOH exhibited a promising surface area (1500 m²/g) and developed porosity (1.42 cm3/g for total pores volume).

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
