In Germany, co-incineration of solid recovered fuels in industrial combustion plants like coal-fired power plants and cement plants is an inherent part of a modern closed Loop recycling management.
This publication gives an overview of the state of the art of coincineration in Germany. Beside the definition of solid recovered fuels, the trends of solid recovered fuel amounts and ways of utilization are described. Furthermore, the relevance of quality assurance for solid recovered fuels is regarded as well as the impact of co-incineration on the climate and resource protection.

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
