In the energy-intensive industries of cement production, the use of refuse derived fuels (EBS) is in common since several years especially to decrease costs.
Whilst an additional contributionor at least free of charge EBS found their way to the rotary kiln in the last years, nowadays a market pricing is taking place. This situation leads to recognizing more and more the Problems coming along with the use of EBS in the cement industries. Beyond the problems with transport and storage EBS generating challenges to the feeding technologies and to the staff. Among others one reason is that the term 'EBS†neither is standardized nor normalized. EBS can be biogenous origin e.g. coffee or rice husks as well as a mixture of different kinds of waste. The user often sees the energy production combined with the reduction of costs only.
