Regenerative Energie
Due to high investment expenditures of public and private waste Management industry a comprehensive MBT waste treatment concept for the implementation of the contents of the Landfill Ordinance 1996 has been brought to conversion in Styria with 1.1.2004.
For the purposes of the EU Waste Framework Directive after which disposal autarky and proximity of the plants to the emerging waste are manifested as principles, a functioning network of rather small-structured waste treatment plants has also developed in Styria. This network take into account these points of view extensively and represent at the same time very much a high level of standards of Treatment and suitable disposal security. In the discussion MBT or waste incineration Styria has always represented the point of view that only with an intelligent combination of mechanical, biological and thermal procedures, coordinated on the respective waste composition, the reaching of the waste management objectives is guaranteed in the best way.

Die EEW Energy from Waste GmbH (EEW) hat sich das Ziel gesetzt, bis 2045 klimaneutral zu werden. Mit 17 Standorten verfügt EEW über eine Verbrennungskapazität von ca. 5 Millionen Tonnen Abfall pro Jahr.
