Regenerative Energie
Due to the European waste framework Directive 2008/98/EC stakeholders in the area of waste management shows interest in activities related to the preparation for re-use. Social Integration enterprises, active in this fi eld at local level, are a sustainable approach to contribute to the Goals of the directive. Regional driven processes, like in many provinces in Austria, enable the development
of existing offerings.
The main aim of socio economic enterprises is to qualify and integrate persons for the labourmarket and help to unburden the public funds. Repair and disassembly of products are measures that contribute to the policies of waste management. One of the key issues is the participatory approach and therefore the involvement of enterprises and their knowledge when talking about development. Stakeholders already offer almost all necessary tasks at local level. Main objective of the process is therefore the collection of these competencies and elaboration of rules to share those within a network. Cooperation between socio economic enterprises and stakeholders in the field of Waste management is a sustainable measure when preparing products for re-use.

Die EEW Energy from Waste GmbH (EEW) hat sich das Ziel gesetzt, bis 2045 klimaneutral zu werden. Mit 17 Standorten verfügt EEW über eine Verbrennungskapazität von ca. 5 Millionen Tonnen Abfall pro Jahr.
