'Smart Energy from Wasteâ€: The Mechanical - Thermal Waste Treatment Concept

ENPOS and Siemens Industry offer a smart alternative to landfill and the incineration of household waste. This new and innovative technology ensures an optimal usage of the recycling an energy potential.

Thinking about sustainable waste treatment in the first step the waste is separated into reusable fractions for the recycling industry. In a second step only those parts of the waste get incinerated which can not be reused at all.
The separation of the residual waste takes place in four major steps:
1. Using the baffle mill, a robust and high reliable shredder, to prepare the fractions for subsequent separation steps
2. separation of foils and plastics to get high caloric combustibles for the cement industry
3. separation of ferrous metal and valuable non-ferrous metal for the recycling industry
4. separation of hard particles like stone and glass
What remains is a combustible fraction of medium heating value with a high percentage of biomass. This fraction is perfectly suitable for the production of eco-energy in the Reject Power Plant developed by Siemens Industry.
The innovative spinning wheel process from Siemens, a combination of fluidized bed and grade combustion, allows for an even distribution of fuel on the grate and delivers optimal combustion results with lowest emissions.
The heat obtained from this is used to produce steam, which can be used as needed to supply a district heating grid or to produce electricity.

Die innerstaatliche Umsetzung des Pariser Klimaschutzübereinkommens - ein Rechtsvergleich

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
