An innovative approach for grape marc treatment: biodrying before combustion

The aim of this paper is to present the results of a study on one of the possible uses of exhausted grape pomace/marc aimed to energy recovery.

The chosen process was the bio-drying one, followed by combustion, for producing steam used to cogenerate thermal and electrical energy. Details regarding proximate and ultimate analysis of dry and wet grape marc, seed, skin and stalks are presented, and also some details regarding the mass and energy balances for the proposed approach are reported. Additionally some details regarding the anaerobic digestion as a suitable process for grape marc treatment are presented in this paper.

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
