The research work to be presented in this paper aims at the comparison of different environmental tools for improving environmental, social and economic indicators towards sustainability in the building construction sector. Moreover, this work reviews in detail the LCA concept and the tools applied in the building environment, as an effort to bring together research on life cycle assessment and practical application.
The review is mainly focusing on LCA applications for building materials and components combination, as well as for the entire life cycle of the building over the last nine years, outlining the differences between the LCA approaches. The tools used for the life cycle assessment are separated into three basic categories, depending mainly on the extent of analysis, the systems studied, the orientation and the environmental impact categories examined.

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
