Regenerative Energie
Cadmium and lead accumulation in above ground edible parts of Atriplex halimus L. which is a widespread C4 xero-halophyte plant in the Mediterranean region, has been investigated, not only for the exploration of its possible use for phytoextraction purposes but mainly for the examination of the possible heath threat that can be caused since saltbushes have been extensively used as livestock fodder reserves in arid and semi-arid counties.
The experimental data showed that Cd and Pb in edible plant tissues reached concentration high enough and considered together with its high above ground biomass production it can be inferred that it can be used as a cleanup tool for phytoextraction applications but for the same reasons its use as livestock fodder, poses a risk of metal transfer from soil to plant tissues, and subsequently of the entrance of heavy metals into the food chain.

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
