First-rate supporting program: IFAT CHINA +EPTEE+CWS 2010
As in the past, the supporting program at this year’s IFAT CHINA + EPTEE + CWS will be a first-rate discussion and information platform. Besides technical and scientific conferences and workshops, there will be theme
specials, exhibitor presentations and B2B matchmaking for exhibitors.
(01.06.2010) The highlight of this year's supporting program at IFAT CHINA + EPTEE + CWS, which takes place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from May 5 - 7, 2010, is a workshop on "Earth System Engineering: Challenges and Chances for the Water Sector" on May 6 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), which is being organized by CRAES - the Chinese Research Academy of the Environmental Sciences (Peking) - and IESP - International Group for Earth Systems Preservation (Munich), in close conjunction with the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Public Health (StMUG) and Messe München International (MMI).
Prof. Meng Wei, President of CRAES, Prof. Peter Wilderer, winner of the Stockholm Water Award in 2003, and ten experts from China and Europe will hold lectures and discuss environmental crises around the world including climate change, dwindling energy supplies, the food shortage and social imbalance, especially when it comes to water. They will join participants in debating holistic solutions and guidelines for responsible action on the part of the commercial and political sectors.
As in the past, the German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) is organizing a series of technical and scientific conferences at this year's fair. Among other things, key topics include the water supply, waste water, raw-materials management, air-pollution control and environmental technologies. On May 5, 2010, i.e. the first day of the fair, there will be a presentation of German-Chinese research projects in the water sector at the "German-Chinese Research Projects Symposium". These water projects are funded by the German Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).
For the second time, Germany's Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) is organizing a workshop on "Energy Efficiency in Water Supply and Waste Water Treatment" on May 6 (2 - 5 p.m.). The workshop will focus on reducing energy consumption in sewage treatment plants and the efficient use of energy made from sewage sludge and addresses experts in the water and energy sectors.
The BMU is also organizing a workshop on "Treatment of Contaminated Land - Methods and Technologies" together with "Terra-, Aqua- und Sanierungskompetenzzentrum Leipzig - TASK†on May 5 (2 - 5 p.m.). This event will allow representatives from the public sector, research and industry to present specific aspects of dealing with contaminated sites systematically.
As always, a series of exhibitor presentations will give exhibiting companies a chance to present their latest solutions, products and services to a broad-based audience of professionals.
For the first time ever, Econet China, a platform for German-Chinese joint ventures, is organizing B2B matchmaking at IFAT CHINA + EPTEE + CWS. Before the fair even begins, interested exhibitors can contact potential international contacts through Econet China to arrange to meet with them personally at IFAT CHINA + EPTEE + CWS.
Simultaneous translation into Chinese and English will be provided for all events in the supporting program. Participation in the supporting program is free of charge for those who participate in IFAT CHINA + EPTEE + CWS 2010.
IFAT CHINA 2010
Messe München International (MMI), the organizer of IFAT CHINA, and Shanghai ZM International Exhibition Co., Ltd., the organizer of China EPTEE + CWS Show for Water, Air, Waste, Energy and Recycling, are putting on IFAT CHINA + EPTEE + CWS, a joint event taking place from 5 to 7 May 2010 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). IFAT CHINA 2008 attracted 362 exhibitors and over 10,500 visitors. The proportion of exhibitors from outside China was again very high, at over 50 percent. In 2009 EPTEE + CWS, a strong national trade fair, hosted a total of 756 exhibitors and over 32,000 visitors. With the strong international profile of IFAT CHINA and the strong national importance of EPTEE + CWS, the two trade fairs complement each other very well in terms of both exhibitors and visitors. In 2010, up to 1,100 exhibitors and round about 38,000 visitors are expected to take part in this joint event which will cover four halls of the SNIEC and a total of 40,000 square meters.
