Together with the Brazilian partner COPASA, one of the largest water supply companies on the Latin American continent, Grünbeck Wasseraufbereitung GmbH, is testing mobile drinking water supply solutions for remote regions. An article in the part 'Science†of this gwf issue describes the background of the project.
Brazil’s water situation seems to be a promising one with huge water resources on the country level, with sophisticated drinking water regulations and with large urban drinking water treatment facilities like the water treatment plant Guandu in Rio de Janeiro, responsible for supplying some nine million people with water every day. Nevertheless, especially rural, remote regions lack
of an acceptable drinking water supply.

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
