MSW COMPOSITION STUDY OF THE MURIBECA LANDFILL TEST CELL

The gravimetric and volumetric characterizations of the solid waste that is disposed at the landfills are important tools to determine the biogas generation potential. It classifies individually each constituent of the waste by volume and weight. It also informs the quantity of the waste mass and its decomposing fraction. According to Mancini et al. (2005), the characterization test results are usually based on the quantity of organic matter, plastic, metal, glass, paper, etc. The knowledge of the amount of glasses, metals and plastics are extremely important to determine the dimensions of the Landfill. It is important for the organic matter biodegradation investigation as well. The methodologies of characterization of urban solid waste are diverse and its subdivisions are rare.

The following project shows the results of the 9 first tests of gravimetric and volumetric composition of the waste that will be disposed in an experimental cell. The cell is to be built at Muribeca’s Landfill/PE with support of the P&D program of CHESF. Its main goal is the investigation of the energy recovery potential in Landfill. It is presented in this paper the methodology of the waste characterization, the truck rout selection and a statistics preliminary analysis of the results. To start of it was selected 9 routs, 30 gravimetric and volumetric characterization tests are going to be carried on and 10 tests of chemical characterization of the waste. It represents approximately 0.0128% of the waste amount that will be disposed in the experimental cell.

Die innerstaatliche Umsetzung des Pariser Klimaschutzübereinkommens - ein Rechtsvergleich

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
