Der Straßenverkehr ist weiterhin für einen substantiellen, unveränderten Teil der CO2-Emissionen in der EU verantwortlich. Vor diesem Hintergrund hat auch die Europäische Kommission in ihrem Green Deal die Umstellung auf eine nachhaltige und klimafreundlichere Mobilität als eines ihrer Hauptziele definiert.
Road transport continues to be responsible for a substantial, unchanged proportion of CO2 emissions in the EU. The transition to electromobility plays a central role in the decarbonization of road transport.On the one hand, this transition has been fostered by the EU for some time; on the other hand, it naturally also raises new regulatory questions that the EU is seeking to answer. Against this background, this article provides an overview of the central instruments for the (legal) promotion of e-mobility and the challenges that EU law poses for electric mobility, ranging from the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulation over the CO2 fleet limits of Regulation (EU) 2019/631 and the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation.
